OLYMPIA, WA – The FC Olympia women continued their summer USL W League campaign Tuesday night earning a hard fought 2-1 road victory over division newcomer the Portland Cherry Bombs.
Olympia secured all three points in Portland, Oregon in front of 3,000 Portland-supporters via goals from Ellen Persson in the first half and big saves from keeper Molly McCabe. Laney Smith capitalized late in the second half with an 88th minute top shelf strike to set the margin after Portland tied in the 70th minute.
Tacoma Stars Visit Olympia for USL Rivalry Weekend
The Tacoma Stars are coming to town for a full weekend of soccer which includes community celebrations and family fun at the Regional Athletic Complex.
