FC Olympia Announce December 20 Open Tryouts Across USL & EPLWA

OLYMPIA, WA — FC Olympia “Artesians” has opened registration for club-wide tryouts for Saturday, December 20, 2025, covering USL League Two (men), USL W League (women), and the Evergreen Premier League (men & women). Registration is first-come, first-served, online only registration — no walk-ups will be accepted on trial day. There will be a cutoff for participants so register early.

The announcement caps a busy fall for the Artesians, who also unveiled staffing updates for the men’s and women’s USL program and detailed a new developmental partnership with Washington Premier FC aimed at strengthening the region’s Path-to-Pro pipeline.

SEYTI SIDIBAY

Who Is Leading the Men’s Program:

  • USL League Two Head Coach — Seyti Sidibay
Sidibay returns to helm the USL2 side after being appointed ahead of the 2025 season. Sidibay has worked with the Sounders Futures and is a current ECNL level coach at Washington Premier. He holds a USSF “A” License. Sidibay held his own in his first year leading in 80% of matches going into the final 10 minutes of games and the team scoring the second most goals on the west coast (a single season team record).
  • Assistant Coach — Jay Smith
Smith, who guided the inaugural USL2 campaign in 2022 as head coach, is set to return in 2026. Smith notably has coached at local high level youth clubs but also helmed the Shelton HS Varsity program before. Smith returns to the USL2 clubhouse as an assistant coach with much experience at this level. Smith has left his post in ownership to pursue coaching full time.
  • EPLWA (Evergreen Premier League): Head Coach — Trevor Fetbrandt
Fetbrandt returns to lead the Artesians’ EPLWA program; having finished mid-table for the 2025 campaign in his first year. Fetbrandt has a colorful high school coaching history leading Tenino High School programs to districts and state for both girls and boys soccer.
  • USL2 GM & Club President Ryan Perkins
FC Olympia’s new Washington Premier partnership was announced with President Ryan Perkins and WPFC CEO Seth Spidahl as the architects of the collaboration. Perkins has been a part of the Artesian soccer club first as an Arena Keeper back in 2017 (WISL) but moved into GM roles before buying the club in the fall of 2021. Perkins signed USL franchises to move the club into the national soccer market and has since expanded youth outreach in community.

Washington Premier Partnership

On November 5, 2025, FC Olympia and Washington Premier FC announced a formal Path-to-Pro partnership, designating FC Olympia as the adult soccer programming arm for WPFC. The collaboration ties together youth development in Pierce/Thurston counties with the Artesians’ USL and semi-pro teams — a major connective step for regional players eyeing pro opportunities.

Why This Matters

With Sidibay back at the helm, Smith returning in an assisting capacity, and Fetbrandt anchoring the EPLWA side, FC Olympia is aligning coaching continuity with a broadened competitive pyramid. Layer in the Washington Premier partnership and the club’s proven USL W winning culture, and December’s trials are set to be a key gateway for players seeking a serious, local Path-to-Pro in 2026 and beyond.
