Messages from FC Olympia Leaders on Club Past, Present & Future
Ben Willis | USL Sporting Director
The end of the year is a chance to reflect on why pathways matter. FC Olympia’s True Path to Pro has always been built on substance — not shortcuts. My opportunity to coach in the professional environment after my time at the club is a reflection of the standards, mentorship, and development culture that exist here.
As we enter a new year, our responsibility is to continue strengthening that pathway so every player and coach knows that growth is possible when the work, the environment, and the belief align.
Chris Wells | Board Officer
The growth of men’s and women’s side in the Northwest region of USL has been impressive to see. Each year, it seems to get more established with coaching hires and professionalism clubs are striving for. We are definitely going to see that displayed this summer
There is always still room for growth, but there is a lot to be proud of for all the clubs for USL to have become the staple summer league setting in the Northwest in such a short time.
Brad Hanson | Board Director
Book ending 2025 with the FC Olympia Keeper Camps has been a great way to incorporate youth outreach and community development into this years programs. As we continue to develop partnerships, youth programs and build our USL and EPLWA programs, I love to see the time and resources spent supporting this communities youth.
Jay Smith | Board VP
Every year I am part of the Artesian family I am excited to see the growth with the community. I am seeing more and more youth wearing FC Olympia gear and not just at soccer events but in daily life. It tells me what we are doing is having a positive impact.
Ryan Perkins | Board President
Providing space has been the key term I’ve realized for FC Olympia in these last five years of running Artesian Soccer. Space for local youth and college players, regional talent but also out of state athletes who look to Olympia, WA for a summer in the trees, mountains and waters of the PNW.
It truly is an experience and have seen all walks of player cherish their time here. To all the families, friends and supporters that continue to actually show up and spread the word, you make it all worthwhile. It truly feels like a family at first whistle.
