Weekend Gallery: Divano Goes Off, Men End USL Year Victorious

OLYMPIA, WA – The fourth year Artesian USL men’s team hosted two USL League Two matches last weekend, Friday against the West Seattle Junction and Bigfoot FC on Sunday July 13th. Junction would sneak a last minute goal to win 2-1 but the Artesians would hold down the fort in a 5-1 dismantling of USL newcomer Bigfoot FC.

FC Olympia would end the year middle of the pack but second most goals scored (28) in the heralded USL Northwest Division.

Bigfoot FC 1 FC Olympia 5

The Artesians were able to score early and often against the Maple Valley, West Coast Goalkeeping owned Bigfoot FC. Connor Leistiko got the nod to start in goal and FC Olympia would field 4 different goalscorers.

West Seattle Junction 2 FC Olympia 1

It was Artesian Alumni night Friday night July 11th as the club honored founder Brandon Sparks and original President and Owner Tim Smith. The club also saw several alumni players come out and enjoy the Well 80 Beer Garden and a good USL match that saw a hard fought battle till the final minutes where Junction would score a game winning goal off a misplay from FC Olympia defender.

Jack Landreth had a great game in goal with 7 saves and keeping Junction at bay most of the match.

Jake Simson had a beautiful goal to start the game off a cross from Diego Righi.
