OLYMPIA – The Oly Town Artesian men’s arena team currently sit in 5th place in the Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) heading into the weekend. How does one go from second place to fifth coming off a bye week?
Everett City FC, Tacoma Stars and South Sound FC are all done playing their ten WISL matches for the year. What is left is an epic showdown in Bellingham, Washington Saturday between United and the Artesians for the WISL playoff table to be set.
The occasion will mark the first time this season that the two clubs will meet which is slated for a 730PM kick at the Bellingham Sportsplex. United has been on a hot streak including upsetting the Tacoma Stars and beating South Sound FC at their house in Tacoma. Artesians are coming off a draw against South Sound FC and a win on the road against Vancouver.

Oly Town enters the game having never won a match in Bellingham but look to balance those scales Saturday. The WISL has designed a new three-conference table inside the league and gives seeds one and two a bye week in the opening playoff round. Seeds number three and four will host a playoff match against five and six seeded teams.

To all Artesians fans wondering if its possible to see another game in the Pavilion with the Arena Men, yes, it’s possible. For that to happen a draw or a win on the road in Bellingham Saturday is crucial to pickup positive points. A loss will send the Artesians on the road for the opening round of the playoffs.
What you can plan on for this weekend is a FREE TICKETED MATCH Saturday as the Artesian Women take on Oly-Pen Force from Bremerton, Washington. The match will feature some familiar faces on both squads, fun raffles and also discounted Artesian gear to close out the year.
Make sure and pickup the new “End of Evergreen State College Indoor Soccer” inspired apparel by showing up this Saturday, 6PM. Again, the match is FREE and we hope to pack it out to support the women as they look to get their first win of the year.
