Memorial Day soccer comes to the Regional Athletic Complex on Monday, May 25th as FC Olympia welcomes Port Orchard FC for a 3:00PM PST Evergreen Premier League Washington (EPLWA) matchup. The game will follow a USL League Two regional match up between West Seattle Junction and the Artesians.
The EPLWA match has been selected as an EPLWA Game of the Week spotlight and will feature an enhanced FC Olympia matchday experience, including a beer garden, kid zone, EPLWA prizes and a special broadcast stream with live play by play coverage.
Well 80 Pitch at the Regional Athletic Complex features a beer garden, expanded 400-person bleacher seating with shade and rain cover as well as an Artesian engineered state of the art sound system. Guests will have access to hot food truck vendors and a kid’s activity area with inflatable indoor soccer field creating the kind of community setting FC Olympia, Port Orchard FC and EPLWA strive for.
Monday’s match is more than an early season table test but a chance to honor the club’s long relationship with the Evergreen Premier League as a statewide pro-am competitive franchise that has helped shape the Artesians’ outdoor identity since 2017.
The story began when original founder Brandon Sparks started the Oly Town Artesians as an indoor men’s program but then made the Evergreen Premier League debut in 2017 at South Sound Stadium marking the club’s first outdoor league match and the return of Olympia-based semi-pro soccer for the first time since the 1980’s. That first EPLWA season gave Olympia an outdoor platform and the Artesians quickly turned it into a foundation for the club’s growing pathway.

“I remember jumping in at keeper backing up Oly Legend JJ Olson in those early years of EPLWA and going on the road with the guys and having some fun wins” said now Oly Soccer President Ryan Perkins. “That team was mixed with local collegiate athletes and graduates and the atmosphere was really competitive.”
Oly’s inaugural outdoor season finished 4-7-3 with 15 points including wins over second place Bellingham United and defending EPLWA champion Vancouver Victory. The Artesians finished sixth that year and remained in the hunt for third place deep into the campaign setting the tone for seasons to follow.
Today the rebranded FC Olympia “Artesians” continue to treat the EPLWA as a key layer of its community development pathway. The club now uses the league as part of its bridge between local elite youth, college players and its USL League Two and USL W League first team environments.
As of this week Bellingham United leads the EPLWA table with Yakima United in second and FC Olympia in third place. Wenatchee All Stars, Port Orchard FC, Skagit Athletic FC and Washington East Surf are in the mix looking for positive points in the early ladder of the season.

FC Olympia opened its 2026 EPLWA season with a 5-2 win over Skagit Athletic behind a two goal performance from Marvin Soeum along with goals from Tristin Evans, Leon Tomno and Preston Soeum. Skagit and FC Olympia met again on May 16 this time playing to a 2-2 draw after goals from Tristin Evans and Brandon Clough giving Olympia an early spark before late Skagit goals split the points.
Port Orchard FC (POFC) enters Monday looking to rebound from a 2-0 road loss at Bellingham United. The Monday’s 3:00PM match in Olympia is the next stop for POFC followed by another meeting with FC Olympia on June 7 in Kitsap County.

The visitors are new to EPLWA Premier Division play in 2026 but not new to building a serious semi-pro soccer footprint. Port Orchard FC joined the Evergreen Premier League after three straight Cascadia Premier League finals appearances including CPL titles in 2023 and 2025. The club markets itself as providing regional competition for elite adult players and building up business, sport and families at their games in Port Orchard.
This all makes Monday a natural crossover match for two clubs that understand what community based soccer can become in Washington. Olympia and Port Orchard both represent cities where local players, families, businesses are central to their mission. Both clubs believe in the value of the summer soccer.
Kickoff is set for Monday, May 25 at 3:00PM at Well 80 Pitch at the Regional Athletic Complex in Olympia, WA.
Fans are encouraged to buy their tickets online and bring the family with kid’s in free.
