LACEY, WA – The Artesians have been competing in Washington State based professional amateur outdoor leagues since 2017 when their first men’s outdoor team took the field in the Evergreen Premier League (EPLWA). The women’s outdoor expansion occurred in 2021 and a subsequent 2022 Northwest Premier League win.
Today the women’s team plays in the Cascadia Premier League (CPL) after winning the division two title in 2024 under head coach Luke Comstock. The men’s team did not make the EPLWA playoff in 2024 forfeiting a key Yakima match which ended up conceding the clubs chances at a postseason.
New division alignments, coaches and stadium are in store for these programs as we take a look at both EPLWA and CPL previews below.
EPLWA Men”s Preview
Newly promoted EPLWA Head Coach Trevor Fetbrandt looks to make his mark on local Artesian soccer with a clean slate this 2025 season. Fetbrandt served as an assistant coach for all ELPWA and CPL franchises in 2024 and has been a staple in local community leagues as well as helming the Tenino High School Varsity soccer programs for years.
“We are really excited to have Trevor at the helm this year” said club Director Brad Hanson. “He brings a great energy and direction to our EPLWA squad.”

The EPLWA squad boasts Saint Martin’s University, South Puget Sound, Evergreen State College and local high schools student-athletes. The league itself features teams from around the state including veteran pro-am clubs like Bellingham United, Yakima United and Vancouver Victory.
Funding for these local pro-am teams comes from fan ticket income and local business sponsors that share a vision for the community to compete and have a fun environment to watch matches.
“The club is really excited to continue to work with local partners that are really focused on path to pro especially youth, college and adults” said Hanson. “The EPLWA and CPL are truly supported by a couple key sponsors like Farrelli’s Pizza and Charro Mexican Restaurant (formerly El Sarape on Westside).”
CPL Women’s Preview
After an undefeated 2024 Cascadia Premier League inaugural season, head coach Luke Comstock is in for a more competitive table in 2025 with the promotion to division one soccer in the CPL. The women’s team is primarily local college graduates with some current Evergreen, Saint Martin’s and SPSCC students as well as some standout graduates and local community league veterans.
“This team is a hallmark of FC Olympia organization having won the first ever League Title in 2022 in the NWPL” said club owner Ryan Perkins. “I think of veteran players like Peyton Rhyne, Brooke Streeter, Olivia Brock and Eden Comstock among others and it’s neat to see this group stay together for years and keep winning cup trophies.”
The season schedule has yet to be released however the division alignment looks to be competitive and well spread out with teams across the state including Spokane, Bellingham, Tri-Cities and local Pierce County teams.

The home matches for both CPL and EPLWA are set to be at Tenino High School in south Thurston County. The stadium features a unique black, turf field with a grandstand and scoreboard. Tickets are $10 a match but can get a season ticket pass for $35.
