OLYMPIA, WA – The FC Olympia “Artesians” on Sunday announced that their Fourth Annual 2025 Gala Fundraiser would transition to an online fundraising event instead of in-person. Fundraiser organizers are having to focus on an online event due to severe budget changes as listed below for the community to review.
The 2025 annual fundraiser takes place on the heels of the college voluntarily shutting down the clubs indoor soccer lease and the “survival mode” state the club has experienced since losing (6) sponsor businesses this winter with majority citing fears of the city planning to increase minimum wage but namely title partner Dancing Goats Coffee going out of business in Olympia, WA in December.
The foundation is asking the community for a big online fundraising turnout to maximize the needs of the soccer club!
History of Oly Soccer Galas & Previous Funding Initiatives:
2022 – Oly Soccer raised money to help offset school district 400% increase in stadium rentals and year one USL franchise costs
2023 – Foundation raised funds to start a reciprocal women’s USL franchise that happened to go undefeated year one and made the national tournament | also a large lease increase by the college to continue to operate Olympia Indoor Soccer
2024 – Expanding youth outreach to start the first USL Youth Clinics and Summer Camp Series | Create more path to pro awareness programming that included pro combines and pro soccer panels that were free to the general public

Why did our Goal Increase from last years Annual Fundraiser?
Indoor Soccer Shutdown (Spring 2024) yielded the greatest loss of annual income in our organizations 11-year history. The college re-purposed the Pavilion and voluntarily ended our lease effectively removing 7-months worth operational income that had existed annually for over a decade.
Losing (6) local business sponsors due to talks of city increasing minimum wage and Title Partner Dancing Goats Coffee going out of business in downtown Olympia.

“One thing is for certain, the FC Olympia “Artesians” are here to inspire the next generation of soccer players and do NOT charge our Artesian Athletes to be on our teams! We do not operate like typical premier youth clubs that charge families an annual or monthly fee to fund the entire clubs scope! We pay 100% of all costs to operate all our teams and across 4 months of in-season path to pro soccer travel, home game festival atmosphere and general weekly practices with USL-level coaching we spend $176,000 in just a 4-month stretch”
