Lacey, WA – Local path to pro soccer club the FC Olympia “Artesians” have announced their annual USL open soccer tryouts for both men and women. All Artesian summer teams are required to register for the tryout to be considered including USL2, USL W and CPL teams.
“My favorite thing about this level of USL soccer are the players” said Technical Director Jason Prenovost. “Their excitement and energy to make a USL squad is contagious and drives you to give everything you have to aid in their success.”
The women’s trial takes place both days before the men’s and will be helmed by new USL W Head Coach Kellyn Green, a former Sounders Women’s player and has been an assistant coach and a captain in the first two years of the USL W League franchise in Thurston County.

“USL league two offers players the platform to showcase their talent” said Sidibay. “I want to be a part of their journey, especially those who want to become professional athletes. USL is a great path for such aspirations.”
Those interested in trying out can go to fcoly.com to register for the men’s and women’s events.
The tryout will also feature expanded programming based on player population in Thurston County including Cascadia Premier League champion Artesians (CPL) which was coached by Luke Comstock. “Our women’s program features a first team USL W squad that players can trial for or work up to through our CPLI team this year” said Owner Ryan Perkins. “We also look forward to seeing a hyper-local men’s USL2 roster and raise the bar with past EPLWA athletes making the first team player pool in 2025.”
USL League Two and USL W League are college focused path to pro leagues that feature aspiring pro players, current pro players and several levels of college players from division one, division two and NAIA. The mix drives incredible competition and quality soccer viewing.
