BELLINGHAM, WA – The Artesians amazing run playoff run came up short Saturday as the Hammers won 6-3 in front of a large semifinal crowd at the Bellingham Sportsplex. FC Olympia came out strong and matched the energy and flow most of the first quarter but the Hammers would net 3 before half while Gavin McLeroy added the sole goal for the Artesians.
The second half saw a better showing however power plays giving the Hammers another two goals while Oly did not capitalize on multiple advantage man-up opportunities and the game would end 6-3. Jesus Flores added a pair of goals to close out the postseason with a club best, 4 goals in playoff competition.
Isaiah Damschen was peppered all match and made several amazing saves for the Artesians in goal. The game would send Damschen into the record books:
