Oly Town Men Roll in Vancouver, Women’s Team Short Players Due to Injuries, Covid in Tacoma

Tacoma Galaxy 5 Oly Town Artesians 1

The Oly Town women coming off a 6-6 draw against Tacoma headed to their house for a rematch just 7 days removed. The Artesians however were missing a half a dozen players due to covid, injuries and other family commitments.

Despite having so many players not there the gals held their own after going down early in the first half to a stalemate in the second. One Artesian player, Lena White was sent to the hospital after a major blow to the head and no athletic trainer at the Tacoma Stars indoor soccer center.

With the loss the women continue to sit at the bottom of the table with no wins, 3 losses and one tie.

Coming off a tough road loss against South Sound FC in Week 9 the Artesians made the long haul to Vancouver seeking a strong finish in their final 4 matches of the season. The Artesians would score early and never look back winning 7-1.

Isaiah Damschen held down the defensive third yielding 1 goal across 60 minutes. Several saves and key blocks held the Lighting to only one goal.

Oly Town returns home for their final regular season match ever in the Evergreen State Pavilion. Tickets can be found at olytownfc.com and prepare for a fun night celebrating the history of the Pavilion.
