OLYMPIA, WA — The Oly Town Artesians entered the Evergreen State Pavilion last Saturday in third place overall (4-1-0) after having a rare 4-week break from Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) action. The Artesians have been sitting in second place in the St Helen’s Conference by goal differential only and third place in the overall WISL table. Oly Town hosted the Snohomish Steelheads who are having a rebuilding year since moving to the Arena Sports Complex in Mill Creek, Washington.

The first half saw 6 Artesian goals across 4 different scorers and an Isaiah Damschen start at goalkeeper. Good, hard physical play dominated the first half but Manny Nicasio was able to secure (2) goals in a 20 second time frame at the 9:00 minute mark which seemed to stifle any Steelhead momentum. Dorian Lair had the sole but cheeky Steelhead goal with a heel flick off a set piece in the second period. Halftime score, 1-6.
Oly Legend, goalkeeper JJ Olson entered the game in the second half and would allow only 2 goals meanwhile Kasey Sidor and TR Jewett both knocked in two. Manny Nicasio would tally 3 more goals for a final 5 scored in the match. Gavin McLeroy was outstanding in his buildup play and distribution with 3 assists.
Goals: 5 (Manny Nicasio), 3 (Kasey Sidor), 2 (TR Jewett, Jesus Flores, Adrian Fong),
Assists: 3 (Gavin McLeroy), 2 (Raymundo Curiel), 1 (Kainoa Wong)
Keepers: Isaiah Damschen (30 Mins, 1 GAA) JJ Olson (30 Mins, 2 GAA)
With the win, the Artesians go to 23 months undefeated in the “IceBox” at the Evergreen State College Pavilion under Head Coach Nick Boatright. The win also sends Oly Town into a tie for first place based on points and only separated by goal differential with Bellingham United.
